1. Why Is Quarantine Info Important Before Entering Korea?
Planning to work in Korea? Besides packing your bags, you need to know the quarantine procedures and what not to bring. Korea strictly monitors disease control. Bringing restricted items may lead to fines or even denial of entry.
2. What Items Are Banned in Korea?
- Fruits & Plants: No fresh mangoes, papayas, limes. Potatoes, peanuts with shells, and muddy vegetables are banned. No seedlings or live insects.
- Animals & Meats: No pets or birds. No beef, pork, chicken, sausages, jerky, canned meat, or pet food.
Violators can be fined up to 10 million KRW. Always double-check before packing!
3. What If You Accidentally Bring Banned Items?
Don't hide them — declare them! Submit a Traveler’s Declaration Form at customs. Declared items may be returned or destroyed without penalty. Some items may be allowed with a valid quarantine certificate from the origin country.
